One of the largest companies on Long Island (almost $1 billion in rev) is seeking a Tax Accountant. Company has GREAT BENEFITS, 15% BONUS, TUITION REIMBURSEMENT AND 3 WEEKS VACATION. Responsibilities include:
Assist manager in preparing consolidated company federal income tax returns
and other filings as required to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws.
Prepares company tax estimates and apportionment factors for internal and
external uses. Responds to IRS and state audit requests by analyzing tax accounts and
responding to taxation authorities. Prepares audit work papers, audits sales and use tax returns to negotiate and defend company tax positions. Prepares FAS 109 calculations for the company annual report to ensure accuracy of data. Assists independent auditors by providing detailed financial statement analysis
to prevent misinterpretation of data. Develops multi-state tax planning strategies using tax return and tax research software to ensure tax regulation compliance and maximum tax benefit to company. Calculates company reserve analysis and managers company effective tax rates. Review acquisition work papers and prepares short period returns.
